To investigate further, we walked by the Fifth Third building (aka the big blue trashcan), where a subterranean microphone allowed us to hear the faint bubbling of Town Branch's flow. More folks joined us as we made our way to the parking lot behind Rupp Arena, where Town Branch emerges into daylight. We cooled our heels and discussed the many ways we observe Flow in our lives and in nature. Next time, I need to appoint an official photographer because I was too busy flapping my gums to take any pictures!
Then Will Bunge led us to the shade of an overpass and shared a physical and philosophical exercise on Flow and Resistance. Participants asked lots of good questions, and the little ones enjoyed playing in the shade.
The remaining crew walked to Goodfellas Pizzeria for a well-earned slice and a mini-lecture on the flows of matter and energy involved in the formation of the solar system. Satisfied and foot-weary, we returned to the library, enjoying the flush of downtown activity due to the Pagan Pride and Roots and Heritage Festivals. What a great day it was to Explore Lexington!
Be sure to join us for our next Explore Lexington outing - October 4 - on the theme of "Origin".
